Why mental health is important?

What exactly is Mental Health??, basically it's a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, dealing with stress and tension and with various emotional situations. It is something that affects how we think, how we feel, how we react, and how we deal with various types of situations in different ways.

Impacts of Mental Health

According to a recent study, more than 80% of people are suffering from bad mental health. Nowadays, people are failing to deal with stress or tension, or some emotional situations like losing someone or failure or fear of losing someone. Overthinking is one of the main reasons for bad mental health, at times in some situations people fail to deal with difficult situations and this leads to overthinking, people think they can't do anything, and they fail to value themselves own self, their capabilities. All this somehow leads to depression, failure, quitting, and losing own self. At times due to this people lose their smiles, they feel lonely even when everyone is with them. The worst impact of bad mental health is quitting their life(suicide), this is the most dangerous stage of bad mental health when someone thinks of ending their own life.

Importance of Mental Health

Seeing the current living standards, it is very important to have good and stable mental health. As in the rush of earning money, and busy schedules most people fail to realize the impacts of bad medical health. They don't realize what this stress due to work or anything damn thing or reason has on them. In this busy schedule due to work, they fail to live their own life, they fail to love themselves, and they don't give time to themself. Nowadays, people don't even have time to sit and relax for even 5 minutes and give time to themselves.

In the past 1.5 years due to covid19, many people have lost their loved ones, many people have lost their jobs, some have faced losses in their business and due to all this, the rate of stress and depression in people has increased up to a great extent which is not at all good. This is the reason why mental health is so important.

Ways to have a good mental health

In this current situation, there are many ways in which we can have good mental health. Daily sitting for 5 minutes and closing our eyes and relaxing is an excellent exercise to calm down our minds. Some of the exercises to have good mental health are as follows:

  • Running daily for 5-10 mins
  • Meditation for 5 mins 
  • Yoga
  • Self-care
  • Connecting with positive people
  • Quality sleep
  • Staying happy
  • Dancing

Besides all these there are many other ways in which we can have good mental health and the very important is giving time to ourselves which everyone forgets due to their busy schedule and responsibilities. But daily if we give at least 5-10 minutes to own ourselves, and sit back and relax, we will have good mental health. This is the best thing anyone can do. Spreading happiness among people is also proved to be a good way to have good mental health, in this way people feel satisfied that because of them someone smiled or they were able to bring a smile to someone's face.
